Ayomide F. Is Marvel’s Ironheart In MIT’s Super Cool Admissions Video

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is known for creating super cool videos to announce that admission letters are being sent out to potential students – and we think they might have just made the coolest one yet.

The video, Not all heroes wear capes — but some carry tubes, follows MIT student, Ayomide F, as Marvel's Riri Williams as she studies at MIT, assembles her badass armoured suit, and takes it out for a test flight.

The incredible Riri Williams was first introduced in the May 2016 issue of Invincible Iron Man. A 15-year-old engineering prodigy attending – you guessed it, MIT – Williams built her own suit from equipment she stole around campus.

In Marvel Comics lore, she eventually filled in for Tony Stark when he became sick; and took the name Ironheart as her superhero alias.

Speaking with The Boston Globe about the video, MIT’s dean of admissions, Stu Schmill said:

“Marvel uses MIT in their comic, so we figured, given we are MIT, it would be OK.”

With a brilliant black female superhero making a cameo this year and the adorable BB-8 delivering admissions letters last year, MIT might just be the coolest university out there.
